Shifting Sands

Copyright 2011

Just wanted to re post this painting 'Shifting Sands' as it was entered in the WAAP art competition. Didn't win but it was a great frill to have it hanging amongst some very talented paintings, photography and sculpture work. The whole experience to go to the opening of the exhibition was very exciting and to share the moment with my wife was special.
Congratulations to the winners and looking forward in entering another piece next year......

Update

Hi All,

Have been flatout, got a couple pieces I am working on, they are about 120cm x 95cm (Shifting Sands). Usually take up to 12 hours to complete (each one). I am doing one for the Aboriginal Art Gallery and one for an Aboriginal Art competition so this is taking up a fair bit of my time at present.

Also have a couple commission pieces on the go aswell due to the Olivetree markets. Once again thank you for checking out my blog and hopefully I will have some new stuff up soon.

Off to cairns next week can't wait......Just thought I would add that......

Numbadda (Whale)

Medium: Acrylic on canvas

At a certain time when Djindu (the Sun) was half way through his daily travel across the sky the men and women would stand close by Numbadda's twin blowholes where the sound of Numbadda was heard. In the spray of Numbadda's water, a rainbow would appear in the mist thus linking people, whales, ocean, sun, air and earth.
